Mr. Barry Joseph Woods

Mr. Barry Joseph Woods, age 54 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2022 in a Rome hospital following a sudden illness.

Barry was born in Summerville, Georgia on January 29, 1968, son of Laura Beatrice Fletcher Woods and the late Jerry Lamar Woods.  He was a member of the Dry Valley Baptist Church, where he was active in the Men’s Ministry, and was employed with Roper Corporation as a Quality Technician.  Barry was an avid UGA Football fan and he loved to fish.  He loved to spend time with his family and was very proud of his children, always supporting them in their various activities.

Barry is survived by his wife, Tina Grogan Woods; daughters, Lauren Woods and Rose Woods; a son, Matthew Woods; mother, Laura Woods; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Melanie Woods; and a number of additional family members and close friends.

Funeral Services for Barry will be held Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 4:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Pastor Lee Hickman and Rev. Stanley Smith officiating.  Interment will be in the West Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include David Adams, Casey Adams, Ethan Gaines, Alan Bryant, David Doster and Gene Greer.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Derek Adams, members of the New Millennium Sunday School Class and Barry’s Coworkers at Roper.

Barry will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 2:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.

The family respectfully asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Men's Ministry at Dry Valley Baptist Church, 451 Dry Valley Church Road, Summerville, Georgia  30747.
