Mrs. Berlene Barber Cox

Mrs. Berlene Barber Cox, age 92 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at the Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Cox was born in Canton, Georgia on April 18, 1927, daughter of the late Golden Walker Barber and Mattie Cox Barber. She was a member of the Riverside Baptist Church in Mableton, Ga and enjoyed drawing, gardening and playing the piano. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Willie Aaron Cox; daughter, Joan Reba Cox; grandson, Buddy Reynolds; great grandchildren, Johnathan Lucas Mitchell and Kalee Grace Mitchell; sisters and two brothers.

Mrs. Cox is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Biddy; Janice Sweet, Ellen and Randle Fowler, Wanda and Darrell Womack and Frances and James Childers; sons and daughter-in-law, David and Elizabeth Cox and James Cox; numerous grandchildren, several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Graveside and Interment services for Mrs. Cox will be held Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 12:00 Noon, from the family plot in the Riverview Memorial Park with Rev. David Holcomb officiating. Pallbearers will include Rena Reynolds Carroll, Lucy Berlene Reynolds, Charolette Reynolds Rush, Christopher Eugene Fowler, Rodney Eugene Fowler, Melissa Cox Cook, Candus Childers Lewis, and Dean Biddy.

Mrs. Cox will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.

The family, as well as the staff of Coffman Funeral Home, ask that you take into consideration the health of yourself and others, and take proper precautions should you plan to attend the visitation and/or graveside services for Mrs. Cox.
