Mrs. Betty Irene Brinkley

Mrs. Betty Irene Brinkley, age 85 of Trion, Georgia passed away Monday, August 19, 2019 at the Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Brinkley was born in Summerville, Georgia on June 11, 1934, daughter of the late Ted Phillips and Willie Etta Wilson Phillips. She had a love of being a caregiver, loved to read, watch game shows and work in her yard. She was a member of the Old Way Baptist Church and was a great support to her pastor and church family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brinkley was preceded in death by her husband, William Eugene Brinkley; daughter, Rebecca Lynn Brinkley and sisters, Margaret Wilbanks, Mary Woody and Barbara Phillips.

Mrs. Brinkley is survived by her sons and a daughter-in-law, Terry Brinkley and Randy and Julie Brinkley; sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and Winston Renfroe; granddaughter, Brianna and Matt Hill; great grandson, Jaxton Wayne Hill; special friends, Carrie Costlow, Nell Dover, and Bobbette Rokus; and a number of special nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Brinkley will be held Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. David Thompson and Mr. Joseph Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Hills Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Bandy, Tommy McRae, Ro Elliott, Jason Thompson, Donnie Gazaway and Brent Shives. Honorary Palbearers will be her Old Way Baptist Church Family.

Mrs. Brinkley will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour.
