Mrs. Betty Louise Cooper

Mrs. Betty Louise Cooper, age 76 of Trion, Georgia passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022 at a Rome hospital.

Mrs. Cooper was born in Trion, Georgia on November 30, 1945, daughter of the late Dewey “Shorty” Ledford and Maggie Emiline Stansell Ledford.  She attended the Mountain View Baptist Church and was formerly employed with Mt. Vernon Mills, Mohawk, and most recently, the Discount Food Mart in Trion.  Mrs. Cooper was a hard worker; loved reading, embroidering, watching TV,  butterflies, windchimes, gospel music, traveling to the Smoky Mountains, Helen, Georgia and the beach, and eating at the Cracker Barrel, but her favorite activity was spending time with her family.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by a daughter, Amber Leann Gilbreath; son-in-law, Steve Bruce and 4 sisters.

Mrs. Cooper is survived by her husband, Mickey Cooper; children, Elaine and Michael Weeks, Rachel Bruce, Lewis and Regina Brown, and Tommy and Christy Cooper; son-in-law, Wayne Gilbreath; brother, Earnest Ledford; grandchildren, Keith(Lori) Bruce, Chad(Misty) Bruce, Brandon(Savannah) Bruce, Suzie(Frank) Parris, Lee(Megan) Brown, Blake(Kayla) Brown, Austin Cooper, Brooke Cooper, Alissa(Jeremiah Clayton) Gilbreath, Destiny(Patrick Croft) Gilbreath; Brittany Wooten, Carrie Ventura and Michael Weeks; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Cooper will be held Sunday, February 27, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Norton officiating.  Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Blake Brown, Lee Brown, Chad Bruce, Brandon Bruce, Austin Cooper, Tommy Cooper, Wayne Gilbreath and Todd White.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Town of Trion, Floyd Home Healthcare and Dian Willis.

Mrs. Cooper will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
