Mr. Billy Monroe Robinson, age 65 of Summerville, passed away Monday, December 24, 2018 at a Rome hospital.
Mr. Robinson was born in Cedartown, Georgia on May 30, 1953, son of the late Billy Kenneth Robinson and Edna Gilliam Robinson. He was a retired truck driver and had been very involved with the Hope Rebirth Homeless Shelter for a number of years. Mr. Robinson was an avid Georgia Bulldog Fan, was the definition of an outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting and gardening. He loved being in the mountains, especially around the Cade’s Cove area, but his greatest past time was being with his grandchildren and family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Robinson.
Mr. Robinson is survived by his fiancé, Joyce Blackmon; daughter, Deann Robinson; son, Jeff Hegwood; step children, Christy Brazelton, Deanna Smith, Becky Hegwood, Chris Braden and John Brazelton; brother-in-law, Kenneth Ledford; special friends, Randall Rush, Darrell and Gail Rush, Sharon Pollard and Gerald and Karen Haygood; and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Robinson will be held Friday, December 28, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home. Interment services will be private.
Mr. Robinson will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour.
