Mrs. Catherine "Granny Cat" Leola Chamlee

Mrs. Catherine Leola "Granny Cat" Chamlee, age 98 of Trion, Georgia passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. Chamlee was born in Guntersville, AL on June 25, 1917, daughter of the late Grover C. Wright and Minnie Clark Wright. She was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church, and prior to retirement, was employed as an inspector with the Georgia Glove Mill. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Chamlee was preceded in death by her husband, Louie Edison Chamlee; a son, William Larry Chamlee; a sister, Ruth Martin; and brothers, Fred Wright and Paul Wright. Mrs. Chamlee is survived by a daughter, Jeaninne Laws; sons, Kenny Chamlee, Eddie Chamlee, Danny Chamlee, Steve Chamlee and Paul Chamlee; sisters, Elsie Cooper and Jane Bishop; brothers, Carmen Wright, Alvis Wright and Jimmy Wright; 12 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mrs. Chamlee will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. John Eldridge and Rev. Jason Cowart officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Chamlee, James Chamlee, Gene Hampton, Justin Chamlee, Jason Mitchell, Jay Stallings and Jim Wright. Honorary Pallbearers will be Andrea Galloway and Kathy Wells. Mrs. Chamlee will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 P.M.
