Charles Ray Brooks

Mr. Charles Ray Brooks, age 76 of Trion, GA passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023 at the Oakview Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Brooks was born in Lafayette, GA on September 19, 1946, son of the late Ed Brooks and Julie Mae Barnett Hill Townsend.  He attended the Faith Temple Holiness Church and was retired from Best Manufacturing.  He loved tinkering with his cars and enjoyed spending time with his family.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his stepfather, Olin Hill; a daughter and a companion.

Mr. Brooks is survived by a son, Danny Ray Brooks; step-son, Richard “Bubba” Gill; sisters, Lora Hill, Mary Craig and Shirley Craig (Darwin Blansit); brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Susan Hill; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Brooks will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. John Mann officiating.  Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Edward Craig, Joseph Cochran, Stephen Craig, Matthew Humphrey, Richard “Bubba” Gill and Dakota Dodd.  Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff of Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Brooks will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.
