Connie Ann McCurdy

Mrs. Constance Ann “Connie” Whittle McCurdy, age 78 of Summerville, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2026 at her residence.

Mrs. McCurdy was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on December 31, 1947, daughter of the late Johnnie Washington Whittle and Gladys Pauline Bryant Whittle. She was a member of the Dry Valley Baptist Church, where she was active as a Sunday School Teacher and was a Bible School Teacher. Mrs. McCurdy was retired from the Chattooga County School System, teaching 2nd Grade at the Summerville Elementary School. She loved teaching and being around children, enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

In addition to her family, Mrs. McCurdy was preceded in death by her husband, Charles McCurdy; and two grandchildren, Alex Wilson and Megan Mickley.

Mrs. McCurdy is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Craig and Emily Wooten, Kevin and Michelle Mickley, and Justus and Julie Mickley; daughters and son-in-law, Nita Corinne Wooten Bowlen, Rebecca Mickley, and Ivy and T.J. Middleton, Alisa Bigham, Rita McCurdy and Donna Bright; sister, Doris Whittle Cooper; grandchildren, Drake Mickley, Ty Mickley, Jaden Mickley, Autumn Keith, Emily Bigham Unkle, Seth Bigham and Sam Bigham; great-grandchildren, Everly LeBlanc, Ryker LeBlanc, Wrenley Middleton, Julianna Mickely, Vivian Mickley, Anastasia Mickley, August Dunn, and Emerson Middleton; and a number of nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Funeral Services for Mrs. McCurdy will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Hampton officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Justus Mickley, T.J. Middleton, Dillon Worley, Lightnin' Croy, Chandler Pettyjohn and Lamar Pettyjohn.

Mrs. McCurdy's family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour.

The family wishes to thank Amedisys Hospice of Dalton for their care and compassion while caring for Mrs. McCurdy.
