David Lamar Grimes

Mr. David Lamar Grimes, age 59 of Ducktown, Tennessee, formerly of Lafayette, Georgia passed away unexpectedly Sunday, August 2, 2026.

David was born in Rome, Georgia on July 15, 1967, son of the late Jerry Lamar Grimes and Frances Russell Simmons. He a graduate of Lafayette High School and attended the Georgia Northwestern Technical College. David was an avid fisherman and loved to garden.

David is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Laura Lee and Duane Brown; two nieces, Skylar Stewart and Ashlyn Brown; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members.

In accordance with David’s wishes, he will be cremated and the family will have a memorial graveside service in the West Hill Cemetery at a later date.
