Mrs. Debbie L. Latta

Mrs. Debbie L. Latta, age 95, of Summerville, GA., passed away Friday, January 17, 2014 at the Oak View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Latta was born in Cherokee County, Alabama on May 13, 1918, daughter of the late Henry Owens and Ella E. McDaniel Owens. She was the oldest living member of the Mountain View Baptist Church and prior to retirement, she along with her husband, Herman O. Latta, owned and operated the Dari-King and Jim's Drive-In. In addition to her parents, and her husband, Mrs. Latta was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jimmy Mitchell. Mrs. Latta is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Doris Latta; daughter, Peggy Latta Mitchell; grandchildren and their spouses, Jamie and Tammy Mitchell, Jason Mitchell, Jon and Sherry Mitchell, Cherie and David Mauney, and Kevin Latta(Margo Hatch); 15 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mrs. Latta will be held Monday, January 20, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin J. Norton officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Hills Memory Gardens. Grandchildren and Great grandchildren have been asked to serve as pallbearers and include: Kevin Latta, Jamie Mitchell, Jon Mitchell, Austin Mitchell, Derek Mitchell, Dexter Mitchell and Michael Mauney. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Staff of Oak View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Latta will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Monday from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour.
