Dessie Mae Gilbert

Mrs. Dessie Mae Gilbert, age 83 of Tunnel Hill, GA formerly of Summerville, GA passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012 at the residence of a daughter.  Mrs. Gilbert was born May 11, 1928 in Trion, GA  She was a homemaker and a member of the South Commerce Church of Christ. Mrs. Gilbert was preceded in death by husband, Lee Gilbert; father and mother, Henry and Julie McWhorter Little; sister, Nell McChalke; and brothers, Alfred Little, Walter Little, and Milton Little. Mrs. Gilbert is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and John Wilson of Tunnel Hill, GA and Jan and John Dempsey of Dalton, GA; granddaughter, Lindsay Wilson-Kokes of Morgantown, West Virginia; grandson, Paul Dempsey of Dalton, GA; great-granddaughter, Alexis Dempsey of Dalton, GA; sister,  Betty Palmour of Summerville, GA; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 4, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. from the chapel of the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Minister Tommy Broome officiating.  Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens. Mrs. Gilbert will lie-in-state on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Pallbearers will be friends.
