Mrs. Dora Marie Hurley, age 99, of Lyerly, Georgia, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015 at the Shepherd Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Hurley was born in Sand Rock, Alabama on July 27, 1915, daughter of the late Homer Odis Cochran and Mary Connie Sims. She was a member of the Perennial Springs Baptist Church and prior to retirement, was employed with the Chattooga County Hospital as a nurse's aide. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hurley was preceded in death by her husband, Austin Earnest Hurley; brothers, W.H. "Bill" Cochran, Frank Cochran, and J.R. Cochran; sisters, Savannah Warren, Edna Morgan and Kizzie Dutton. Mrs. Hurley is survived by special nieces, Mary Whittle and her husband, Joel Whittle and Marie Bishop; and a number of additional nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mrs. Hurley will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 4:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Joel Whittle and Rev. Ken Westmoreland officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Hills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Gary Blankenship, Wayne Dutton, William Warren, Christian Griggs, Tyler Barbee and Devan Byers. Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff of Shepherd Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Hurley will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 P.M.
