Mrs. Doris Clark Morgan, age 88, of Trion, Georgia passed away Friday, October 20, 2017, at a Rome Healthcare center. Mrs. Morgan was born in Trion, Georgia on December 12, 1928, daughter of the late Samuel L. Grogan and Julia Ellen Mills Grogan. She was a member of the Trion First Baptist Church and was twice retired from the Weave room of Mt. Vernon Mills. Mrs. Morgan was a great cook, loved working in the yard with her plants and flowers, and was always ready to go shopping. She was an immaculate housekeeper and was a very meticulous dresser. She was selfless and humble; and always willing to do for others. She was an avid Elvis fan and was fortunate enough to be able to see him live in concert. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her first husband, William Roy Clark, Sr.; second husband, Gene Morgan; daughter, Carolyn Clark Gideon; grandson, Larry Robert Gideon; brothers, Samuel Grogan, Earl Grogan, Mike Grogan and Glenn Grogan and sisters, Emma Lee Bowman, Thelma Colbert, Shirley Crider and Evelyn Lancaster. Mrs. Morgan is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Tom Blackman, Trion, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, William Roy, Jr. and Toni Clark, Dahlonega; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mrs. Morgan will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at 4:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Casey Bramlett and Dr. Warren Moorehead officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Randy Rush, Johnny Human and Dawson Edwards. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Quarter Century Club, Staff of Pruitt Healthcare and Pruitt Hospice of Rome. Mrs. Morgan will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 2:00 P.M. until the funeral hour. Flowers will be accepted, however those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Trion First Baptist Church.
