Doris Elaine Shelton

Mrs. Doris Elaine Shelton, age 57 of Trion, GA passed away, Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Floyd Medical Center.  Mrs. Shelton was born March 2, 1956 in Summerville, GA.  She attended  Cornerstone Church and was retired from the Weaving Department of Mount Vernon Mills. Mrs. Shelton was preceded in death by her father, Eddie Lee Tapp; brother, Eddie Ray Tapp; grandparents, John and Ida Tapp and Earnest and Margie Timmons; and several aunts and uncles. Mrs. Shelton is survived by her husband of 38 years, John Charles "J.C." Shelton; daughter, Keri Lynn Alley; son, Sjohn Lee Shelton; and daughter, Keisha Dianne Shelton; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; mother, Nina Mae Tapp; five sisters, Myra, Rita, Ruth, Tammy, and Cindy; three brothers, Roger, Troy, and Larry; special friends, Jill Porter, Gail Carmon, Diane Konkel, Sarah Daniles, Judy Jenkins, Rita Brown, Janet Harman, and Norma Miller. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Sumner and Rev. Rick Sumner officiating.  Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Doris Elaine Shelton will be Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 4 to 9 p.m.
