FAYE MCCAULEY HENDERSON DAVIS May 7, 1934 - January 23, 2018 Faye McCauley Henderson Davis passed away on January 23, 2018 at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, Georgia following an extended illness. Mrs. Davis was born on May 7, 1934 in Chickamauga, Georgia to the late J. C. McCauley and Lucille Hunter McCauley. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Hairral Davis, her first husband, Leon Austin Henderson, her son, Randall Lynn Henderson, her granddaughter, Sydni Alyssa Davis, her parents, J. C. and Lucille McCauley, her sisters, Carol Reynolds and Wilma Jean Myers, her brothers, Alton McCauley and Tommy McCauley. Mrs. Davis is survived by her children, Alisa Camp and her husband Butch Camp, Cecelia McMichen and her husband Jerry McMIchen, Holly Minor, Chris Davis and his wife Lisa Davis, Jon Davis and his wife Deanna Davis, Derek Davis and his wife Amee Davis. Mrs. Davis is also survived by 14 grandchildren: Felecia Floyd, Nicole Branton, Jason Thomas, Brooke Cigainero, Matt Maxwell, Joseph McMichen, Jeremy McMichen, Spencer Davis, Seigar Davis, Steiner Davis, Hunter Davis, Haleigh Davis, Avery Davis and Anistyn Davis. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren: Griffin Floyd, Sidney Floyd, Ian Walker, Jaydon Walker, Peyton Walker, Ashton Walker, Owen Walker, Colton Branton, Jordan Thomas, Hudson Thomas, Taylor Anderson, Alex Anderson, Lilly McMichen and Everett McMichen. Mrs. Davis is also survived by her beloved sister, Peggy McCauley Gilbreath and her husband Noel Gilbreath and uncle, Jim Hunter. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Mrs. Davis was a member of Trion Heights Baptist Church. Before she became ill, she participated in several church activities including teaching Sunday School and hosting her bible study group at her home bi-weekly. Mrs. Davis was a retired educator having retired from the Chattooga County School System after many years of teaching elementary school at Pennville Elementary School. She was a member of Chattooga Retired Teacher's Association and Delta Kapp Gamma. Mrs. Davis held a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Shorter University. She later earned her Master's Degree in Education from Berry College and her Educational Specialist Degree from University of West Georgia. Prior to teaching, Mrs. Davis owned and operated Faye's Cut & Curl Beauty Salon in Summerville. Visitation for Mrs. Davis will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Coffman Funeral Home in Summerville, Georgia. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 12:00 noon at Coffman Funeral Home. Officiating will be Mrs. Davis' son, Bro. Jon Davis and Pastor Vernon Johnson of Trion Heights Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be grandsons and Honorary Pallbearers will be granddaughters and great-grandchildren. Interment will be at West Hill Cemetery in Trion. Mrs. Davis was extremely devoted to her family and loved by so many. She had a beautiful smile, warm personality and a great sense of humor. She was a true "Southern Belle." She is fondly remembered by her children and grandchildren for her loving nature, devotion to education, her affectionate songs she lovingly sang to her children and grandchildren, her motherly and grandmotherly advice and her gentle guidance and direction. She daily demonstrated her love for her family not only through her words but also through her actions. Anyone who knew her knew that she had a strong love and affection toward children and truly loved being a school teacher. Mrs. Davis will be fondly remembered by her loving children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her beloved sister, nieces and nephews and other family members, friends, former colleagues and students.
