Mrs. Flora Williams Howell, age 88, of Trion, GA passed away Friday, January 02, 2015 at the Redmond Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Howell was born in Geraldine, Alabama on September 14, 1926, daughter of the late Elbert Estes and Eldora Addison Estes. She was a member of the Pennville First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for 55 years, sang in the choir and was a G.A. and WMU director and teacher. Mrs. Howell was employed with the former Reigel Glove Mill, and retired from Best Manufacturing, where she was a member of the Best Silver Club. Following her retirement, she worked with The Pregnancy Resource Center. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Howell was preceded in death by her stepmother, Velma Estes; first husband, Eugene Williams, and her second husband, Dalton Howell. Mrs. Howell is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Deborah Williams of Summerville; daughter and son-in-law, Annette and James Mashburn of Crossville, AL; sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Jim Stricklin; sisters-in-law, Betty Duckett and Madge Smith; grandchildren, Amy and Jay White, Kelli Tibbett, Jamie Waldrip and Traci Mashburn; great grandchildren, Brooke and Marcus Tibbett, Beth Durham, Abby and Judson White, David and Katie Jenkins, Hailie and Taylor Morgan, and Jackson and Kennedi Waldrip; one great great granddaughter, Mackenzie Tibbett; Special Cousin, Helen Anthony of Trussville, AL; and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mrs. Howell will be held Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. George Palmer, Rev. Billy Dempsey and Bro. Johnny Wynn officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Hills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jeff Stricklin, Vic Stricklin, Drew Stricklin, Evan Scott, Jay White, Judson White, Brock Rutledge and Josh Rutledge. Honorary Pallbearers will be Members of the Pennville First Baptist Church, Staff of the Pregnancy Resource Center, Ann Lanier, Vera Palmer, and Imogene Gilbert. Mrs. Howell will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 P.M. until the funeral hour. At other hours the family may be contacted at the residence of her son, Robert Williams, 290 Woodhaven Drive, Summerville. Floral tributes will be accepted, however, those desiring may make memorial contribution to the Pregnancy Resource Center.
