Mrs. Freda Lynn Crabtree Gilley

Mrs. Freda Lynn Crabtree Gilley, age 64 of Summerville, passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Residence of her daughter in Rocky Face following an extended illness. Mrs. Gilley was born in King’s Mountain, NC on September 5, 1953, daughter of the late Winford K. Martenn and Edna Ruth Black Martenn Thompson. She had a green thumb, loved to garden and spend time with her grandchildren. Prior to retirement, she was employed with Mohawk Industries. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gilley was preceded in death by her first husband, Wayne Thomas Crabtree; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Henry and Hazel Crabtree and a brother-in-law, Winston Crabtree. Mrs. Gilley is survived by her husband, Tony Gilley; son and daughter-in-law, Dewayne and Christine Crabtree; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Mickey Rose; brothers and sister-in-law, Bud and Jeannie Martenn and Greg Mitchell; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathleen and Keith Shropshire and Kim and Simon Worrell; grandchildren, Ryan Crabtree, Reece Crabtree and Zack and Blaklee Crabtree; great grandchildren, Zayden Helms and Balor Crabtree; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mrs. Gilley will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with her brother, Bud Martenn officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Hills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Michael Crabtree, Jimbo Crabtree, Stacy Crabtree, Chris McGraw, Brandon Martenn and Joel Martenn. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chais Helms, Wyatt Cochran, Jerry Crabtree, Keith Shropshire, Cory Watson and Zach Lively. Mrs. Gilley will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. The family respectfully asks that in lieu of flowers,  memorial contributions be made to offset the cost of funeral expenses.
