Mr. Freddie Lee Christopher

Mr. Freddie Lee Christopher, age 77 of Summerville, passed away Sunday, September 02, 2018 at his residence following an extended illness. Freddie was born in Trion, Georgia on June 5, 1941, son of the late John Henry Lyles and Betty Christopher Daniel. He was a member of the West Fifth Street Church of Christ, and was retired from the maintenance department at Mt. Vernon Mills. Freddie was an avid Trion Sports Fan and was active in the Trion Fifty Yard Club. He loved coaching Softball and Baseball, and especially loved looking after “his kids” at the Trion recreation department. In addition to his parents, Freddie was preceded in death by his wife, Gwen Christopher and two brothers, Rozell Daniel and Jerry Daniel. Freddie is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Fitz and Tammy Christopher and Kevin Christopher; daughters, Missy Christopher and Brittany Christopher; brothers, Shirley Daniel and Lonnie Christopher; sister, Brenda Smith; grandchildren, Lorenza Foster, Tameka Ware and Immani Christopher; great grandchildren, Zo Christopher and CJ Ware; special Friends, Nolan Crisp and Robert Daniel and all employees of the Trion Recreation Department and the members of Pennville Church of Christ; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Freddie will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Minister Robbie Eversole officiating. Interment will follow in the Allgood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Black, Terrell Kidd, Eddie Farmer, Jerome Black, Antoan Black and Damon Black. Freddie will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
