Mr. Gary Wayne "Julio" Uptain

Mr. Gary Wayne “Julio” Uptain, age 56 of Trion, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2020 at his residence following an extended illness.

Julio was born in Rome, Georgia on August 9, 1964, son of the late Richard Uptain and Elizabeth Rutledge Uptain.  He was a member of the Berryton Bible Mission.  Julio was an avid music lover and was formerly employed with Jordan Gas as a service technician.  In addition to his parents, Julio was preceded in death by a son, Jacob Wayne Uptain.

Julio is survived by his wife, Marsha Uptain; daughters, Tiffany (Allie) Shropshire and Amber Uptain (Sarah Emery); brother and sister-in-law, Don and Christy Uptain; sister and brother-in-law, Melanie and Rodney Wooten; granddaughter, Ayva DeBerry; Special friends, Jamie Dodd and Marilyn “Granny” Dodd; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside and Interment Services for Julio will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 3:00 P.M. in the Johnson Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Rutledge officiating.

Pallbearers will be Tim Rutledge, Lucas Jackson, James Rutledge, T.J. Rutledge Jason Rutledge and Jesse Jackson.  Honorary Pallbearers will be staff of Floyd Home Health Care.

Julio will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M. prior to the graveside service.

The family of Julio, and the staff of Coffman Funeral Home, ask that anyone that plans to attend the services, to please follow the CDC recommendations as it pertains to Social distancing and social gatherings. Facemasks are not required, but are recommended.
