Mr. Gary Jerome Morgan

Mr. Gary Jerome Morgan, age 48 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at the Pruitt Healthcare in Lafayette following an extended illness.

Mr. Morgan was born in Lafayette, Georgia on January 17, 1971, son of Mable Carr Coley and the late William Howard Morgan, Sr. He had been employed in the Spinning Department of Mt. Vernon Mills and worked for a time with the Money Auction Company. In addition to his father, Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his wife, Polly Morgan and a brother, William Howard Morgan, Jr.

Mr. Morgan is survived by his mother, Mable Coley; half brothers, Elvis Morgan, Curtis Morgan and Wayne Morgan; step brothers, Larry Coley, Wayne Coley, Jacky Coley and Donnie Coley; step-sister, Betty Long; sister-in-law, Margaret Morgan; nieces, Alex Young and Kelseay Tucker; and a nephew, Jesse Holquin.

Funeral Services for Mr. Morgan will be held Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Shaver officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gary Cordle, Billy Joe Durham, Devon Hines, Robert Sumner, David Tucker, Sammy Trammell and Bobby Sumner.

Mr. Morgan will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour.
