Geraldine K. Rutherford

Mrs. Geraldine K. Rutherford of Summerville, GA passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011 in Oakview Nursing and Rehab Center.  She was born September 26, 1922  in LaFayette, GA, was a housewife, and a member of the Summerville First Baptist Church. Mrs. Rutherford was preceded in death by her husband, Millard S. Rutherford; father and mother, Hushell and Beulah Waters Kellett; 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Survivors are daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and James Evans of Summerville, GA; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 4:00 pm from the chapel of the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Dr. Kenneth Summey officiating.  Interment will follow in the Summerville Cemetery. Mrs. Rutherford will lie-in-state Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 3 to 4 pm. Pallbearers will be Mike Lanier, Sidney Lanier, Tony Jones, Harmon Petitt, Billy Petitt, and Gerald Dempsey. The family request in lieu-of-flowers that donations may be made to the Gideons International or the charity of your choice. The family also request No Food.
