Mrs. Gwendolyn Louise Christopher, age 69 of Summerville, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2016 at her residence. Mrs. Christopher was born in Gaylesville, Alabama on February 20, 1947, daughter of the late Joe Daniels and Eleanor Dixon Stamper. She attended the AC Carter High School and held an Associate's Degree. She was a member of the West Fifth Street Church of Christ, and prior to retirement she had been employed with Mt. Vernon Mills, Mohawk, the City of Summerville and as a clerk with the Town of Trion. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Christopher was preceded in death by a sister, Jacqueline Adams; Step-father, Gilford Stamper; brothers-in-law, Harold Evans and Jerry Daniels; sister-in-law, Rozell Daniels; cousin, Connie Smith and a nephew, Walter Harold Evans. Mrs. Christopher is survived by her husband, Freddie Christopher; sons and daughter-in-law, Fitz and Tammy Christopher and Kevin Christopher; daughter, Missy Christopher; sisters and brother-in-law, Peggy Renee Evans and Charlotte and Johnny Allen; sisters-in-law, Suzie Daniels, Brenda Smith and Sara Joyce Daniels; brothers-in-law, Lonnie Christopher, Shirley Daniels, and Nathan Adams; grandchildren, Brittany Christopher, Lorenzo Foster, Tomeko Thompson and Immanni Christopher; great grandchildren, Zorran Christopher and CJ Thompson; God-daughter, Daphne Smith; Special Niece and nephews, Natasha Adams, Bryant Adams and Garrick Evans; Special Friends, Patty Hill, Jan Day, Barbara Madden, Barbara McCutchins and Waymon Blansit; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral Services for Mrs. Christopher will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 2, 2016 in the West Fifth Street Church of Christ with Minister Jessie Bankston and Minister Ronald Cowser officiating. Interment will follow in the Allgood Cemetery in Trion. Mrs. Christopher will lie in state at the West Fifth Street Church of Christ where the family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service. Pallbearers will include Friends and Family. Honorary Pallbearers will be Waydell Howell, Jamey Coffman, Charles Latta, Nolan Crisp, Anthony McWhorter, Steve Black, Eddie Farmer and Robert Daniels. The family respectfully asks that no flowers be sent, however those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society in Mrs. Christopher's Name.
