India Elaine (Ashworth) Jackson

Mrs. India Elaine Ashworth Jackson, age 87 of Trion, Georgia passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025 at the Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Jackson was born in Lafayette, Georgia on December 13, 1937, daughter of the late James Edward Ashworth and Lillie Frances Broyles Ashworth.  She was a member of the N. Summerville Baptist Church and was retired from Cook’s Pharmacy.  She was a member of the Summerville Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, and enjoyed gardening, working with flowers, fishing and traveling.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, Edward “Cotton” Jackson; sisters, Winfred Colley and Frances Shoemaker; and brothers, Bill Ashworth, Tommy Ashworth, Raymond Ashworth, Hubert Ashworth and Jim Ashworth.

Mrs. Jackson is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Suzanne Jackson, Shirley and Jim Bowers, and Lynn and Michael Adair; sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Rick Cybulsky; sisters-in-law, Cathryn Ashworth, Alice Faye Ashworth and Ann Hudsputh; grandchildren, India Nicole and Jeff Ledbetter, Ashley and Tyler Sanford, and Jackson Bowers; great granddaughter, Ayla Sanford; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside and Interment Services for Mrs. Jackson will be held Saturday, January 25, 2024 at 4:00 P.M. in the West Hill Cemetery with Rev. Mickey Skates officiating.

There are no formal plans for a visitation.
