Irene Tucker Pettyjohn

Mrs. Irene Tucker Pettyjohn, age 90 of Oak Street, Trion, GA passed away Thursday, February 24, 2011 in Oakview Nursing and Rehab Center.  Mrs. Pettyjohn was born June 8, 1920 in Cherokee County, AL.  She was retired from  Best Manufacturing and was a member of the South Summerville Baptist Church. Mrs. Pettyjohn was preceded in death by her son, Edwin Toles; her father and mother, George and Cora High Tucker; sisters, Lillian Tucker, Evelyn Tucker; and a brother, Charlton Tucker. Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Dawn Toles of Palmetto, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Randy Ledford of Lexington, SC; grandsons and wives, Shawn Ledford of Lexington, SC, Chris and Sheri Toles of Moreland, GA, and Eric and Kelly Toles of Newnan, GA; great-grandchildren, Lexi Toles, C. J. Toles, Christen Toles, and Sarah Holland. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 3:00 pm from the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Bryant and Rev. David Craven officiating.  Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens. Mrs. Pettyjohn will lie-in-state Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 pm. Pallbearers will be Charles Spraggins, Arnold Kilgo, Billy Edwards, Allen Ponder, John Shamblin, and Billy Henderson.  Honorary Pallbearers will be the Ladies of the Shining Light of South Summerville Baptist Church and Viola Lawman.
