Mr. Jack Thomas

Mr. Jimmy "Jack" Thomas, age 90, of Trion, Georgia, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Thomas was born in Trion, Georgia on June 21, 1925, son of the late William Cleo Thomas and Clara Pierce Thomas. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy, a member of the Pleasant Grove Church of Christ and was a self employed farmer. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Amy Jo Wilbanks Thomas on January 20, 2015; sister, Mary Ella Thomas, brothers, Max Thomas, Johnny Henry Thomas, Roy Thomas, Cecil Earl Thomas and a great grandson, Jackson Cole Hames Thomas. Mr. Thomas is survived by a daughter, Jo Ann Clements; sons and daughters-in-law, Jackie and Kay Thomas, Arlen and Anna Thomas and Gary Thomas; sister, Goldie Patty; brother-in-law, Bobby Wilbanks; sister-in-law, Saralyn Thomas; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mr. Thomas will be held Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Minister Hugh Glaze officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Thomas, Jeremy Thomas, Kerry Thomas, Cole Thomas, Scott Clements, Cody Thomas, Maverick Herod and Andrew King. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mr. Thomas' great grandchildren. Mr. Thomas will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour. The family of Mr. Thomas is accepting flowers, however, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
