Mr. James Wilbert Barnett, age 57 of Trion, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018 at a Rome hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Barnett was born in Trion, Georgia on November 7, 1961, son of the late Chester Barnett and Yvonne Goodridge Barnett. He was a member of the Victory Fellowship and prior to ill health was employed with Pruitt Healthcare in Lafayette and Golden Living Center in Rome; and had previously worked at Mt. Vernon and drove a truck for Star Trucking. Mr. Barnett enjoyed working with wood, enjoyed cabinetry and could build just about anything. Mr. Barnett is survived by his wife, Tanya Gail Criswell Barnett; daughters and sons-in-law, Heather and Scott Howard and Meagan and Dustin Smith; step daughter, Tashia Criswell; step son, David Criswell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jeff and Anita Barnett and Mickey and Christie Barnett; sister, Teresa Barnett; grandchildren, Clayton Barnett and Donovan Ivester; special friends, Martha Dawson, JoAnn Wooten and Rachel Wooten; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mr. Barnett will be held Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Samuel Manus officiating. Interment will follow in the Taylor, Criswell and Barnett Cemetery in Trion. Family will serve as pallbearers and include: David Criswell, Dustin Smith, Jaclyn Steele, Harold Taylor and Scott Howard.
Mr. Barnett will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour.
