Mr. James F. "Jimmy" Wooten, age 66 of Ballard Drive, Lafayette, GA passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Hutcheson Medical Center. Mr. Wooten was born April 1, 1946 in Walker County, GA. He was Church of God by faith. Mr. Wooten was preceded in death by father and mother, Alvin F. and Estelle Nichols Wooten. Mr. Wooten is survived by brothers, Johny Wooten of Summerville, GA and Roger Wooten of Dalton, GA; sisters, Wanda Wooten and Darlene Capeheart of Dalton, GA; aunt, Catherine Rich of Summerville, GA; uncles, Roy Nichols of Menlo, GA, Pete Nichols of Walker County, GA, Henry Nichols of Cloudland, GA and Franklin Nichols of Summerville, GA; several nieces & nephews; and special friend & care givers, Winford & Jo Ann Ballard of LaFayette, GA Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremy Singleterry officiating. Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. James F. "Jimmy" Wooten will be Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. Pallbearers will be Tommy Neal, David Pettyjohn, Chris Capeheart, John Kelly, Joey Wooten, Stanley Nichols, and Winford Ballard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jo Ann Ballard, Sandy Mayfield, Lookout Mountain Community Services, and Orange Grove (Chattanooga). Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home is in charge.
