Jean K. (Kirk) Pope

Mrs. Jean K. Pope, age 85 of Trion, Georgia passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at a Rome hospital.

Mrs. Pope was born in Trion, Georgia on November 23, 1939, daughter of the late Clyde Herbert Kirk and Kelly Aline Bowers Kirk.  She was a member of the Spring Creek Baptist Church and was retired from the Mt. Vernon Mills.  Mrs. Pope enjoyed gardening, working with her flowers, mowing the yard and anything that allowed her to be outside.  She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Carla Odell Garner; and two brothers, Herbert Lee Kirk and William Franklin Kirk.

Mrs. Pope is survived by her husband, Terry Pope; daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Bruce Hale, Debbie and Joel Runyon and Lynn and Reb Blanchard; 7 grandchildren; 6 bonus grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside and Interment Services for Mrs. Pope will be held Thursday, January 23, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. in the Spring Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

The family respectfully asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Sister Jean Pope Memorial Fund, c/o Spring Creek Baptist Church, 2629 Spring Creek Road, Trion, GA  30753.
