Mrs. Joann Sumner Hill age 74, of Harrisburg Road, Summerville, GA

passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Heritage Healthcare at Shepherd

Hills. Mrs. Hill was born June 16, 1938 in Summerville, GA to the late Elmer

"Pete" Sumner and Maggie Chappelear Sumner. She was married to the late

William M. "Bill" Hill . In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a

brother, Charles Sumner, Sr.; her niece, Eleanor "Cissy" Sumner; and a very

special cousin, Renae Money.

Mrs. Hill was a member of New Hope North Baptist Church . She was retired

from the Cloth Room at Mount Vernon Mills.

Survivors include 3 wonderful nephews, Charles "Butch", William, and Richard

Sumner; 2 nieces-in-law, Melanie and Melody Sumner; 3 great-nieces, Charis, Caitlan,

and Margelen Sumner; 3 great-nephews, Kencade, Cole, and Raeden Sumner; 2 step

great-nephews, Justin Wilbanks and Drake Cabe; sister-in-law, Peggy Sumner; and

aunts, Edith Studdard of LaFayette , GA and Myrtis Chappelear of Chamblee , GA ;

and several cousins. Her family was her life.

Graveside and interment services will be conducted Saturday, December 15, 2012

at 2:00 p.m. from the West Hill Cemetery with Rev. Ralph Sumner officiating.

Interment will be in West Hill Cemetery .

Visitation will be Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home

where the family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be family.
