Joan Frances Dobbs

Mrs. Joan Frances Dobbs, age 73 of Shannon, GA passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at her residence. Ms. Dobbs was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts on July 6, 1937. She was a graduate of Rome High School, had been employed with CVS Pharmacy for 10 years and had been a school bus driver for the Floyd County Board of Education for 30 years. Ms. Dobbs was Catholic by faith. Ms. Dobbs was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Louise Lackey; her father and mother, Louis Arthur Curry and Olivette Bonin Curry; and a brother, Richard Oliver Curry. Ms. Dobbs is survived by son, Blly Lackey of Rome, GA; daughter, Chrissie Cook of Rome, GA; son, Joe Lackey of Rome, GA; daughters, Loddie Knowles of Euharlee, GA; Misty Dobbs of Atlanta, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou and Ernie Beckner of Acworth, GA; brother, David A Curry of Rome, GA; grandchildren, Joey J. Lackey, Jr, Brandon Knowles, Jessie Lackey, Trevor Knowles, Sarah John Lackey and Lucas Lackey. The family will decide on services at a later date.
