Mrs. Joania Irene Horton

Mrs. Joania Irene Horton, age 80 of Lafayette, Georgia passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at the Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga.

Mrs. Horton was born in Berryton, Georgia on April 16, 1941, daughter of the late Franklin Charles McGraw and Lula Josephine Chastain McGraw.  She attended the Summerville Pentecostal Worship Center, where she was a member of the Ladies’ Adult Sunday School Class, and was retired from Harriet and Henderson.  She loved to shop and travel and enjoyed watching Jimmy Swaggart Ministries.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Horton was preceded in death by sisters, Colleen Waits, Peggy Maynard and Inez Morgan.

Mrs. Horton is survived by her husband, Lonnie Horton; daughter, Mona Lisa Payne; step-sons, Jason Horton and Keith Horton; sister, JoAnn Hughes; special nieces, Diane Wilbanks, Cindy Kellett and Charlene Hughes; 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a number of additional nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Horton will be held Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Pastor Andy Hutchins and Mr. Greg Fulbright officiating.  Interment will follow in the Green Hills Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Kellett, Chris Hughes, Quinton Jones, Matthew Jones, Stony Horton, Adam Jones and Adam Hogue.  Honorary Pallbearers will be the Adult Ladies’ Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Horton will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.
