Joe Charles Wooten

Mr. Joe Charles Wooten, age 72 of Summerville, Georgia, formerly of Cloudland, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024 in a Rome Healthcare Center.

Mr. Wooten was born in Lafayette, Georgia on February 13, 1952, son of the late Charles Wooten and Flossie Ledford Wooten.  He was a member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and was retired from General Electric.  His greatest achievement was being a father, and as his daughter stated, “Lord knows, he was the best.” He enjoyed deep sea fishing, cars and football, but was an avid Georgia Bulldogs Fan.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Wooten was preceded in death by his wife, Vikki Wooten and a son, Bucky Wooten.

Mr. Wooten is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Michel Dawson; sister, Diane Poulos; grandchildren, Bluesy Harrell and Preston Wooten; honorary brother, Larry Brock and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside and Interment Services for Mr. Wooten will be held Sunday, February 18, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. in the Green Hills Memory Gardens with Deacon Jimmy Johnson officiating.

There will be no visitation.
