Mr. John Hoyt Farmer, age  100 of Melbourne, Fla. , formerly of Summerville passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013. He was born May 7, 1912 in Toccoa , Ga. son of the late James & Eunice Farmer. He was Owner/Operator of a Commercial Laundry in Summerville for many years, received a Masters Degree from Oglethorpe University , was a member of the Hall of Fame at Oglethorpe University . Mr. Farmer was a member of Summerville First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and was a veteran of the US Navy . He was preceded in death by 5 brothers & sisters and his wife Bolling Brown Farmer in 2005.

Survivors include his daughter, Katherine Bolling Farmer of Ashburn, VA and a sister Barbara Kinchiloe of Richmond, VA.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. from the Summerville First Baptist Church with Dr. Paul Mason officiating. Interment will follow in Summerville Cemetery . Visitation for Mr. John Hoyt Farmer will be Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 12 pm to 2 pm.

Pallbearers will be the Deacons of the Summerville First Baptist Church and are requested to meet at the Church on Tuesday at 2:15 p.m.

In-lieu of flowers the family ask that contributions be made to the Summerville First Baptist Curch.

Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home has charge of the funeral arrangements for Hoyt Farmer.
