John Wayne Jennings, Jr.

Mr. John Wayne Jennings, Jr., age 56 of Gaylesville, Alabama passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2026 in a Huntsville hospital.

Mr. Jennings was born in Trion, Georgia on April 12, 1970, son of John Wayne Jennings, Sr. and the late Patricia Ann Long Jennings. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church and was formerly employed in the Steel Construction Industry. Mr. Jennings had a great sense of humor and was always trying to make others laugh. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and being around children; but his favorite activity was spending time with his family, who fondly called him the “Man of Steel.”

In addition to his mother, Mr. Jennings was preceded in death by a son, Walter Cavin Reynolds and a grandson, Andrew Jennings.

Mr. Jennings is survived by a daughter, Amber Jennings; sons, John David Jennings, Jeffrey Jennings, Justin Jennings and Bradley Reynolds; father, Wayne Jennings; sisters, Marie Jennings and Melissa Jennings; brothers, Billy Jennings, Richard Jennings and Casey Jennings; grandchildren, Kira Wells, Kayne Jennings, Paesleigh Newsome, Jace Jennings, Isabella Jennings, Olivia Jennings and Emerson Jennings; and a number of nieces, nephews and extended famil members.

Memorial Services for Mr. Jennings will be held Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. in the Liberty Baptist Church in Gaylesville with Rev. Brian Williams and Rev. Hunter Williams officiating.
