Mr. Johnny Franklin Jenkins, age 79 of Trion, Georgia formerly of Dalton, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 at the Floyd Medical Center. Mr. Jenkins was born in Monroe County, Tennessee on November 4, 1937, son of the late Leslie Marsellus Jenkins and Ella Carolyn Van Winkle Jenkins. He was a member of the Harvest Worship Center in Trion, was retired from Brown Printing and was an avid and talented stringed instrument musician. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by infant twins, Terry and Perry Jenkins; brother, Robert James Jenkins and sister, Lula Mae Reed. Mr. Jenkins is survived by his wife, Betty Jenkins; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Stephanie Jenkins and Gary and Anne Jenkins; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Mike Rankin; grandchildren, Mason Jenkins, Madicyn Morrisette; Ashley Rankin and Jacob Rankin; two great grandchildren, Kinsley Rankin and Alyssa Stephens, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mr. Jenkins will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 6:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Bishop Phil Minter officiating. Private Interment will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens. Mr. Jenkins will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 3:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.
