Joyce Ozment

Miss Reba Joyce Ozment, age 61 died Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, GA.  She was born September 18, 1950 in Chattooga County. The daughter of the late Joe Robert and Fannie Belle Ozment and a sister, Shirley Ozment.  She was employed by the Trion City Schools Cafeteria. She is survived by wonderful relatives and friends and a loving church family; all of whom look to a brighter day when they hope to be reunited with her.   She was an active member of  New Beginnings Baptist Church where she enjoyed taking part of many church activities. Miss Ozment's hobbies were trade day and auctions while visiting with friends and meeting new ones.  When they did meet her, she was like an old friend in the beginning.  As a young lady growing up she loved to go to wrestling matches with her family.  Miss Ozment just enjoyed life, laughter, and the company of family and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the New Beginnings Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Johnson and Rev. Jimmy Tanner officiating.  Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens. Miss Ozment will lie-in-state Friday, January 6, 2012 at the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m.  Miss Ozment will also lie-in-state at the New Beginnings Baptist Church on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Jim Powell, Michael Helms, Ray Henson, Chris Duncan, Andy Cash, Dwane Almond, Neil Shropshire, and Junior Bowman.  Honorary Pallbearers will be the Ladies of New Beginnings Baptist Church, Trion City School Cafeteria, and George Helms.
