Mrs. Julia Mae Townsend

Mrs. Julia Mae Townsend, age 88 of Summerville, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at a Rome Hospital. Mrs. Townsend was born in Colburn, Alabama on May 28, 1929, daughter of the late Ervin Barnett and Laura Butler Barnett. She attended the Faith Temple Holiness Church and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Townsend was preceded in death by her husband, Olin Hill, brothers, David Barnett and Willie Barnett; and a sister, Juanita Gentry. Mrs. Townsend is survived by her children, Eddie (Susan) Hill, Charles (Janet) Brooks, Lora Hill, Mary (Thomas) Craig and Shirley Craig (Darwin Blansit); sister-in-law, Sarah Barnett; cargivers, Matilda Speer and Regina Dodd; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mrs. Townsend will be held Friday, July 14, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. John Mann officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Craig, Edward Craig, Stephen Craig, Justin Craig, Kaleb Craig and Randy Hill. Mrs. Townsend will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 P.M.
