Mrs. Karen B. Skinner Stivers, age 76 of the Teloga Community, Summerville, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024 at her residence.
Mrs. Stivers was born in Linton, Indiana on June 12, 1948, daughter of the late William Jasper Skinner and Wilma Berniece Kindred Skinner. She was retired from the Floyd Medical Center where she worked as a CNA and a caregiver, and she had been attending the Chelsea Baptist Church. She enjoyed shopping, reading, and “keeping the roads hot”, but her favorite activity was spending time with her grandchildren and supporting all of their sports activities. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stivers was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Stivers; 2 sisters, Judy Bruce and Peggy Allen; and two brothers, Darrell Skinner, Sr. and Richard Skinner.
Mrs. Stivers is survived by two sons, Shawn Fellers(Michael Holmes) and Andy(Amy) Stivers; stepdaughter, Tonya Stivers; grandchildren, Gavin Stivers, Finley Stivers and Tylee Stivers; and a number of nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Stivers will be held Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Lemmons and Mrs. Susan Webb officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brad Skinner, Darrell Skinner, Jr., Trent Skinner, Dustin Webb, Toby Morrison and Michael Holmes. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mrs. Stivers’ close friends.
Mrs. Stivers’ family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour.
