Kathryn Elizabeth (Hix) Cooper

Mrs. Kathryn Elizabeth Cooper, age 86 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, March 22, 2024 in a Rome hospital.

Mrs. Cooper was born in Subligna, Georgia on July 31, 1937, daughter of the late Steve Hix and Anna Norman Hix.  She was retired from the Chattooga County School System, where she worked as a lunchroom attendant and was of the Methodist Faith.  Mrs. Cooper was a lifelong caregiver, taking care of her family whenever the need arose. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, gardening, and was very proud of her cooking.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by a son, Billy T. Manning.

Mrs. Cooper is survived by a son, Brent M. Cooper; sister, Linda Cumbaa; and a number of nieces, nephews and additional family members.

Graveside and Interment Services for Mrs. Cooper will be held Monday, March 25, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. in the Subligna Cemetery with Rev. Steve Helms officiaiting.

There will be no formal visitation.
