Kay Rakestraw

Mrs. Martha Kay Rakestraw, age 70 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2026 in a Rome hospital.

Kay was born in Summerville, Georgia on June 8, 1956, daughter of the late J.D. Craig and Martha Rebecca Goodson Craig. She was retired from the Trion Wal-Mart, where she was employed as a customer service manager. Kay loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by a brother, Hoyt Richard Craig.

Kay is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Travis Beavers; brother and sister-in-law, David and Patsy Craig; sisters and brother-in-law, Hazel and Hoyt Burrage, Stella Keef, Nancy Craig(Mike Shireman) and Linda Noles; grandchildren, Brittney Curtis(Austin Mitchell), Bridget Rakestraw, and Kaylee(Tyler) Stoppelbein; great grandchildren, Angeleah Curtis, Alexus Rutledge, Braxton Rutledge, Gavin Haney, Legend Edwards, Reyna Stoppelbein, Paisley Mitchell and Addisyn Mitchell; and a number of nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Visitation for Kay and her family will be held Saturday, August 22, 2026 from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at the Coffman Funeral Home.
