Mr. Kellett Monroe Murphy, age 93 of Gaylesville, Alabama passed away Monday, April 11, 2022 at his residence.
Mr. Murphy was born in Chattooga County on February 7, 1929, son of the late Roe Murphy and Angelo Kellett Murphy. He was a member of the Teloga Baptist Church and was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills. In addition to his parents, Mr. Murphy was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Marie Montgomery Murphy on October 1, 2019; sisters, Henrietta McCary and Betty Jo Manly; granddaughter, Stephine “Boots” Hughes; and sons-in-law, Jackie Brock and Earl Bramlett.
Mr. Murphy is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Connie Bramlett, Audrey Brock, Jeannie and Jackie Corbin, Goldie Hames, and Ginger and Steve Marshall; sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Sandra Murphy, Randy and Gail Murphy and Marty Murphy; 13 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Murphy will be held Monday, April 18, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Weaver and Rev. Darwin BLansit officiating. Private Interment will be in the Murphy Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Shannon Murphy, Steve Marshall, Grant Montgomery, Willis Hames, Dillon Smith, Denver King and Bird Lawrence. Honorary Pallbearer will be Ray “Buffalo” Williams.
Mr. Murphy will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service.
The family respectfully asks that no food be sent.
