Larry Rayford Dendy

Mr. Larry Rayford Dendy, age 83 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday, January 27, 2025 at his residence.

Mr. Dendy was born in Berryton, Georgia on March 2, 1941, son of the late Sewell Ellis Dendy and Ella Geneva Cohen Dendy.  He was a retired truck driver for Shaw Industries Transportation Department.  His CB Handle was Boogedy Man, earned from his ability to say Boogedy repeatedly. His granddaughter, Kelsey, inherited this ability.  In his younger years, Mr. Dendy enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his son, Tim and grandson, Chase.  He was known by his grandchildren as “Pop” or “Papa.”

In addition to his parents, Mr. Dendy was preceded in death by a son, Tim Dendy and brother, Wayne Dendy and Joel Dendy.

Mr. Dendy is survived by his wife, Frances Marie Crow Dendy; daughter and son-in-law, Shaun and LeBranne Willingham; sisters and brother-in-law, Nita Poe and Corrine and Jerry Wallin; grandchildren, Chase(Ashley) Dendy, Kelsey(Casey) Brown, Dakoda(LeAnn) Willingham and Rylee Willingham, Chris Mosley and Kirk Farrar; great grandchildren, Cannon Brown, Clayton Brown, Cohen Brown, Anna Dendy, Hudson Willingham and Layla Willingham; and a number of niece, nephews and extended family.

Graveside and Interment Services for Mr. Dendy will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. in the West Hill Cemetery with his son-in-law, Mr. LaBranne Willingham officiating.

Pallbearers will be Chase Dendy, Dakoda Willingham, Casey Brown, Chris Mosley, LaBranne Willingham and Ken Anderson.  Honorary Pallbearers will be his caregivers, Kelsey Brown, Rylee Willingham, Rhonda Pollard, Pruitt Hospice, Kim Nations, Amy Wofford, Kasey Wheat and all friends and neighbors in the Pennville Community.

The Family will receive friends at the Coffman Funeral Home Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M.
