Mrs. Lula Mae Gentry, age 82 of Trion-Teloga Road, Summerville, GA passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Gentry was born May 19, 1931 in Chattooga County, GA. She was a housewife and a member of the Chelsea Baptist Church. Mrs. Gentry is preceded in death by husband, Edward T. Gentry; son, Richard T. Gentry; father and mother, Albert W. and Maggie Brown Smith; sisters, Janice Smith, Inez Brown, and Shirl Rabdeau; and brother, David Smith. Mrs. Gentry is survived by daughters, Barbara Hughes, Susan Gentry and partner, Lisa Venable of Trion, GA; son, Charles and his wife Sandra of Trion, GA; sisters, Leona Prince, Minnie Smith, Beth Wentz and Betty Wentz of Menlo, GA, Carolyn Hanks of Cedar Bluff, AL; brothers, Wiley Smith of Boaz, AL, George Smith of Summerville, GA, and Albert Smith, Jr. of Alpine; 5 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special nurse, Katie Rockwood. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 30, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Tapp officiating. Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Lula Mae Gentry will be Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Jason Hughes, Justin Hughes, Jimmy Prince, Keith Smith, Kelly Wentz, and John Gentry. Honorary Pallbearers will be Life Choice Hospice and the Ladies Sunday School Class of Chelsea Baptist Church.
