Mrs. Margaret Ellen Ledford Rich

Mrs. Margaret Ellen Ledford Rich, age 82 of Trion, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at her residence following an extended illness.

Mrs. Rich was born in Trion, Georgia on May 7, 1939, daughter of the late Dewey Lee Ledford and Maggie Emaline Stansell Ledford.  She was a member of the Ridgedale Unity Church of God and was a homemaker.  Mrs. Rich worked for a while with Wink McWhorter, sewing and making furniture and had also worked at Lafayette Manufacturing in the blouse factory.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rich was preceded in death by her husband of over 62 years, William Franklin Roosevelt Rich; siblings, James Ledford, Roseanne Earp and Jean White; and grandchildren, Quincy Bo Arp, December Lynn Gentry and Melissa Payne.

Mrs. Rich is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Frances Elaine and Jimmy Reynolds, Ann and Bobby Payne, Angela and Steed Hart and Jeanette and Carl Gentry; sister, Louise Cooper; brother, Earnest Ledford; grandchildren, Kandance Ballew, Chris Gentry and Robert Payne; great grandchildren, Emmaleigh Gentry, Katelynn Gentry, Talon Ballew, Brianna Payne, Hunter Gentry and Fayla Payne; and a number of  nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Rich will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Brandon Bishop officiating.  Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Isaiah Reynolds, Jimmy Ray Sills, Johnny Ledford, Robert Payne, Chris Gentry and Rickey Edwards.  Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Ridgedale Unity Church of God.

Mrs. Rich will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.  At other hours the family may be contacted at the residence of her daughter, Frances Reynolds.
