Mrs. Martha Sue Robbins Jackson, age 87, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, June 5, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. Jackson was born in Rome, Georgia on March 9, 1928, daughter of the late Chester Robbins and Martha Griffin Robbins. She was a graduate of the Rome Girl's High School and following her graduation, worked for Dr. John McCall at the McCall Hospital in Rome. Following her move to Summerville in 1954, Mrs. Jackson became a secretary and proud employee of Bigelow-Sanford (Georgia Rug Mill) until her retirement. She was an active member of the Summerville First Baptist Church, active member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class and the J.O.Y. Club, and was actively involved in community activities. . Mrs. Jackson was a loving wife, and caring mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a great cook and seamstress and enjoyed square dancing. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, J. Harold Jackson on May 22, 2015; a sister, Joyce Jackson and a brother, Joe Robbins. Mrs. Jackson is survived by her children, Jamey Jackson (Jim Delk) of Atlanta, John (Linda) Jackson of Marietta and Joseph (Cheryl) Jackson of the Harrisburg Community; grandchildren, Katie Jackson Hill (Ben), Sarah Jackson, Dylan Jackson, Ethan Jackson, and Brooklyn Jackson and one great grandson, Jackson Hill. Funeral Services for Mrs. Jackson will be held Sunday, June 7, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Dr. David Hunter officiating and her son, Mr. John Jackson delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Summerville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jamey Jackson, John Jackson, Joseph Jackson, Dylan Jackson, Ethan Jackson, Gary Jackson, Steve Jackson and Jim Delk. Mrs. Jackson will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.
