Mary Ann Davenport

Mrs. Mary Ann Davenport, age 77 of Flintstone,GA formerly of Trion, GA passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the residence of a daughter.  Mrs. Davenport was born June 23, 1935 in Trion, GA.  Mrs. Davenport was retired from Mount Vernon Mills and was a member of the LaFayette Church of God.  She was a very hard worker, loving & caring wife, mother & grandmother.  She was also a poet; and she touched many with the way she lived. Mrs. Davenport was preceded in death by husband, William Calvin Davenport; daughter, Sheila Collette; father and mother, James A. Russell and Gertrude Oralee Maples Russell; sister, Shirley Meford; and brother, Curtis Russell. Mrs. Davenport is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Trina and Jack Harvey of Flinstone, GA; grandson, Jody Collette of Trion, GA; granddaughter, Kirby Miles of Flintstone, GA; brother & sister-in-law, James & Catherine Russell of Trion, GA; very special friends, Mel and Kimberly Kocher of Ringgold, GA; several nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremy Singletary, Rev. Gary Howell officiating.  Rev. Jack Harvey will do the commital at the graveside.  Interment will be in the Greenhills Memory Gardens. Visitation for Mrs. Mary Ann Davenport will be Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m..  Pallbearers will be Tuffy Russell, Brad Russell, Jody Collette, Billy Bryant,  Mel Kocher & Don Sabin.   Honorary pallbearers will be the "F" Hall Staff of Oakview Nursing Home & members of the LaFayette Church of God. Erwin-Pettt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
