Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Evans

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Evans, age 85 of Trion, Georgia passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022 at a Rome Hospital.

Mrs. Evans was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on January 26, 1937, daughter of the late James Carl Boyles and Frances Christine Coker Boyles.  She was a member of the Spring Creek Baptist Church and was a homemaker.  She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Evans.

Mrs. Evans is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, George Maddux, Jr., Dennis and Ann Maddux, Tracy and Bree Evans and Stacy and Tamara Evans; daughters, Pam Teague and Janet Holbrook; grandchildren, Wesley Maddux, Amanda Eleam, Jeff Maddux, BJ Eleam, Alan Holbrook, Thomas Maddux, John Thomas Maddux, Savana Evans, Keely Evans, Karis Evans and Kallan Evans; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; special friend, Randall Graham; caregiver, Auburn Lewis; fur baby, Reese; and a number of additional family, church family and friends.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Evans will be held Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with her son, Rev. Stacy Evans and Rev. Dane Maddux officiating.  Interment will follow in the Old Trion Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be BJ Eleam, Wesley Maddux, Jeff Maddux, Josh Timmons, Thomas Maddux, John Thomas Maddux and Dylan Thomas.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronny Abernathy and Lance Peevy.

Mrs. Evans will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour.
