Mrs. Mary Ellen Hege

February 27, 1942 — November 1, 2020

Mrs. Mary Ellen Hege, age 78 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday, November 1, 2020 at the Floyd Medical Center.

Mrs. Hege was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on February 27, 1942, daughter of the late Curtis George Brannock and Margie Lorene Brannock.  Loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was a member of the Fisher’s Chapel United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.  Mrs. Hege loved to collect Barbie Dolls and going to the music shows in the Great Smoky Mountains, but her greatest love was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hege was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Inabinet and brothers. Bob Brannock, Dean Brannock, and Danny Brannock.

Mrs. Hege is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ben Wesley Hege; daughters and sons-in-law, Christine and Jim Hayes, Wendy and Mike Wade and Robbin and Mark Scoggins; brothers and sister-in-law, George Brannock and Donald and Brenda Brannock; grandchildren, Kevin (Sunny) Scoggins, Kyle (Brittany) Scoggins, Autumn Wade and Lori Hayes; great grandchildren, Kayleigh Scoggins, Sawyer Scoggins, Reed Scoggins and Charlotte Scoggins; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Hege will be held privately in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Brent Wells officiating.  Interment will be in the Fisher’s Chapel Cemetery.

Due to health concerns with the COVID-19 Pandemic, there will be no public visitation.

The family respectfully asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Sue Spivey, 300 Nixon Street, Summerville, GA  30747 or to the Fisher’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 7335 Dry Creek Road, Summerville, GA  30747.
