Mrs. Mary Ruth Kirk Tucker Lawson

Mrs. Mary Ruth Kirk Tucker Lawson, age 82 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Thursday, September 10, 2020 at her residence.

Mrs. Lawson was born in DeKalb County, Alabama on September 10, 1938, daughter of the late J.D. Kirk and Callie Mae Troxtel Cagle.  She was a member of the Horizon Baptist Fellowship.  Mrs. Lawson was the first certified female EMT in Chattooga County and dearly loved working in the healthcare field for over 20 years.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Kelli Martin and Terry Hughes and two sisters, Cleo Harbour and Helen Crowder Pace.

Mrs. Lawson is survived by two daughters, Teresa Tucker Hix and Fredia Patterson Brady; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Nancy Tucker and Scott and Carol Tucker; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and a number of beloved nieces and nephews.

Private Graveside and Interment services for Mrs. Lawson will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020 with Rev. Casey Bramlett and Mrs. Jennifer Carter officiating.

Mrs. Lawson’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

There will be no formal visitation.

The family respectfully asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Horizon Baptist Fellowship or to Trion First Baptist Church.

The family of Mrs. Lawson, as well as the staff of Coffman Funeral Home,  advise anyone that plans to attend the services for Mrs. Lawson, to please follow the CDC recommendations as it pertains to Social distancing and social gatherings.  Facemasks are not required, but are recommended.
