Mr. Morgan C. Hampton

Mr. Morgan C. Hampton, age 84 of Trion, Georgia passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at his residence. The last of eight brothers and sisters, Mr. Hampton was born in Lafayette, Georgia on June 9, 1932. He loved to Garden in the spring and enjoyed working in his yard. Prior to retirement he was employed as a car hauler for many of the used car dealers in the area. Mr. Hampton was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Hampton, and two sons, David Carl Hampton and Terry Lee Hampton. Mr. Hampton is survived by sons and daughter in law, Kenny and Donna Hampton; Johnny Hampton, Gene Hampton and Randy Hampton; grandchildren, Stacy Henderson, Doreen Hampton, Josh Hampton, Heath Hampton, Shanna Hampton, Autumn Hampton, Kensly Hampton, Brittney Hampton and Stephanie Hampton; several great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mr. Hampton will be held Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Shores officiating. Interment will follow in the Corinth Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jody Anderson, Randy Stoker, Tony Chamlee, Justin Chamlee, Charles Daggett and Randy Dover. Honorary Pallbearers will be area used auto dealers and their employees. Mr. Hampton will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.
